REAP Battery, part of YEO Teknoloji (BIST: YEOTK), is entering the United States energy storage market. It offers container-based battery energy storage systems (BESS) — systems that store energy so it can be used later — made at its facility in Tuzla, Istanbul. The systems use LFP (lithium iron phosphate) cells, a safe and long-life battery chemistry, and are built to meet the technical and commercial needs of U.S. grid (utility) and business (commercial & industrial, or C&I) buyers.
A FEOC Risk-Free Supply Chain
A key part of REAP Battery's U.S. offer is that it is FEOC risk-free. FEOC stands for "Foreign Entity of Concern" — a U.S. legal term for battery makers and suppliers with significant ties to certain state-controlled companies. Because REAP Battery is fully owned by YEO Teknoloji, a publicly listed Turkish industrial group, and because the batteries are made in Türkiye, REAP offers a non-FEOC option for U.S. grid and business buyers.
Low Long-Term Cost and Tariff Advantage
REAP Battery's systems are designed to keep the total cost of ownership (TCO) — the full cost of owning and running the system over its lifetime — as low as possible. With LFP cells rated for 6,000+ charge cycles, the systems are built to last a long time, which is one of the biggest factors in the lifetime cost of energy storage.
There is also a price advantage: goods made in Türkiye currently face much lower U.S. import duties than similar products from China, which lowers the delivered cost and makes REAP more competitive. REAP Battery's sales and engineering team is already helping U.S. utility developers, independent power producers and large C&I energy users with project planning, feasibility studies and financing documents.
